502 Motorworks 502 Spyder – Specification
Engine:
Option 1: Porsche 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder horizontally opposed, pushrod valve actuation. Wet sump lubrication, with engine mounted oil cooler. Two Weber or Solex twin choke downdraft carburetors, with twin Bendix fuel pumps.
Option 2: Porsche 1.5 liter , 4 cylinder horizontally opposed, 4 overhead camshafts. Dry sump lubrication, with front mounted oil cooler. Two Weber or Solex twin choke downdraft carburetors, with twin Bendix fuel pumps.
Exhaust System: Four-into-two-into-one design with custom small-box silencers. Single oval outlet.
Clutch: Single dry-plate 6 or 9 spring clutch.
Transmission: Porsche Type 519 split case with correct Dow finish.
Suspension: Fully adjustable twin torsion bar front with link pin and 17mm anti-roll bar. Fully adjustable rear with drilled swing arms. Koni Classic shock absorbers on all four corners.
Braking System: Alloy front drums with twin wheel cylinders. Alloy rear drums with single wheel cylinder. Backing plates vented and equipped with fresh air cooling deflectors.
Wheels and Tires: 16” pressed steel wheels with 5.50 – 16 Dunlop RS5 period race tires.
Bodywork: Tubular ladder chassis constructed with CDW tube, and powder coated black. Aluminum alloy body fabricated by custom coach builder using 502 Motorwork’s own bucks and jigs. Alloy tonneau cover, Perspex windscreen and period-correct lights. Seats finished in period barber-pole vinyl.
